GENPLEX™Transplant Panel Multiplex RTPCR Kit

GENPLEX™Transplant Panel Multiplex RTPCR Kit

The GENPLEX™ Transplant Panel Multiplex RT-PCR Kit is designed for the rapid and accurate detection of transplant-related viral infections. It offers high sensitivity and specificity using advanced RT-PCR technology. With a single-step detection process, endogenous control, and compatibility with multiple PCR instruments, it ensures reliable results for monitoring post-transplant patients, aiding in timely medical decisions.

GENPLEX™Transplant Panel Multiplex RTPCR Kit, patients such as those undergoing solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation are at substantial risk for infection with numerous pathogens. Infections with cytomegalovirus (CMV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), and human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) are well-described complications of transplantation. As viruses previously believed to be quiescent through widespread vaccination (e.g., measles and mumps) reemerge and molecular diagnostic techniques are refined, rare and emerging viral infections are increasingly diagnosed in transplant recipients. This chapter will review the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and potential antiviral therapies for these viruses in the transplant population.

During GENPLEX™, forward and reverse primers hybridize to a specific sequence product. A probe, which is contained in the same reaction mixture and which consists of an oligonucleotide labeled with a 5′-reporter dye and a downstream, 3′-quencher dye, hybridizes to a target sequence with in the PCR product. A Taq polymerase which possesses 5′ – 3′ exonuclease activity cleaves the probe. The reporter dye and quencher dye are separated upon cleavage, resulting in an increase in fluorescence for the reporter. Thus, the increase in fluorescence is directly proportional to the target amplification during PCR
